Modern Family Extension

Inspired by our client’s wish to make the ground floor of their property feel as large as possible, we designed a 13 metre long extension to create a multi purpose living space. A home to a young family, this space needed to suit their lifestyle - functional by day with a sophisticated living space for relaxing and entertaining in the evening.

The kitchen was designed to be lost, with white wall units which almost disappear when not in use to move the focus to the dining space where the family spend a lot of their time. The kitchen island is transitional and acts as a standalone piece of furniture for multiple uses.

The extension wraps around at the rear to form a playroom, den and shower room, designed as a multi-use area, doubling as a guest bedroom suite when required. We used the same colour palette in both the den and the kitchen so the spaces read as one.

The bi-folding doors bring the garden into the house, creating a seamless flow and lots of light.

My husband and I worked very closely with Clare, Ian and the team at Webster’s Interiors for an extensive home renovation between 2010 and 2014. During this time a complete re-design of the interior was achieved including the installation of  a new kitchen, gym, living room, home offices and bathrooms where several construction restraints and obstacles were overcome to achieve the final stunning results. Webster’s were able to guide us with their professional expertise and provide a team of trusted tradesmen who could be trusted to stand behind their skilled work offering a range of the latest products and home technologies. They were also very much in tune with our own individual style and proposed beautiful ‘ finishing’  details such as rugs and furniture that have made our home feel complete . We would definitely not hesitate to recommend using Webster’s Interiors and would definitely approach them again to help us with any future projects
