We designed this 13 metre long extension to create a multi purpose living space. A home to a young family, this space needed to suit their lifestyle - functional by day with a sophisticated living space for relaxing and entertaining in the evening.
The kitchen was designed to be lost, with white wall units to move the focus to the dining space where the family spend a lot of their time. The kitchen island is transitional and acts as a standalone piece of furniture for multiple uses.
The extension wraps around at the rear to form a playroom, den and shower room, designed as a multi-use area, doubling as a guest bedroom suite when required. We used the same colour palette in both the den and the kitchen so the spaces read as one. The bi-folding doors bring the garden into the house, creating a seamless flow and lots of light.
